Criminal justice clients are a large percentage of clients who take part in drug and alcohol rehab programs in Nevada City and in the USA. Court systems in the U.S. are finding it more advantageous to treat individuals who have found their way into the criminal justice system for drug related crimes, rather than penalizing them in vain with time in jail and other such rulings. It is proven to be more successful to deal with the trouble of drug addiction directly, rather than enforce such penalties. The majority of individuals who do not end up in drug and alcohol treatment will often wind back up in the criminal justice system, while criminal justice clients in alcohol and drug treatment frequently don't make the same mistakes and have a much better chance at remaining abstinent and away from the court system entirely.
